We are a not for profit organisation, solely run by volunteers, which emerged from a few like minded people's wish to create more awareness of the Tibetan peoples ongoing struggle for a genuinely autonomous Tibetan region. A struggle that has remained consistently, and persistently, non-violent in its approach, since 1959.
We proudly incorporated on the 10th March 2008, the 49th anniversary of Tibets' Uprising Day.
Mission Statement
To raise awareness of the Tibetan people’s ongoing peaceful struggle; and their heartfelt wish to preserve their culture, language and the natural environment of their country; through organising music concerts and other similar events.
Freedom 4 Tibet's
Statement on the Current Tibet CrisisThe situation in Tibet is dire and Tibet needs our help now! The Tibetans have for the last 49 years peacefully struggled for the most basic of human rights…..the freedom of speech, the freedom of religion, the freedom of civil and political rights.
Due to the recent protests, Tibet has been a main focus in the media over the last week and the world is finally able to see part of the struggle the Tibetans face living under Chinese rule.
As an Australian who is fortunate to live in a country with rights, you do have a voice, so I strongly urge you to please stand firm with the Tibetans, as this is the time when they really need our help!
Please do whatever you can to keep Tibet in the spotlight; send letters to newspapers; get on talk back radio shows; sign petitions and send letters to you local, state and federal politicians. Educate yourself about what is really going on in Tibet and tell as many people as you can.
There are many things that you can actively do for Tibet, so please use this opportunity to urge our government to be your voice and to let the Chinese know that they need to stop these atrocious inhumane acts that they commit against the Tibetans daily.
The Chinese will unleash a very brutal reaction to those that protested and they don’t want the world to see, so we need to continue to make Tibet a part of the daily news. I feel strongly that if the attention fades away from Tibet, the wrath of the Chinese will end in a massacre of the Tibetan people.
The Tibetans are willing to give up their lives for their country, so please don’t let Tibet fade away!
