During his Australian tour in 2007, His Holiness the Dalai Lama stated that ‘Tibetan culture could be "finished" in 10 -15 years, if China does not allow the region to govern itself.’ He also said that this was a very critical time for Tibet, and that we, as westerners, should do whatever we can to help the Tibetan situation.

This could be one of the last significant opportunities to save the Tibetan culture from annihilation.
