The Sacred Art of Tibet Exhibition - The Dome,Sydney Showground,Sydney Olympic Park - 11-15th June,2008. Norbulingka Institute in Dharamsala, India will be exhibiting their applique and painted Thangkas along with Buddha statues at His Holiness the Dalai Lama's coming teachings at The Dome, Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park in June 2008.

These items will be on exhibition and for donation/sale as part of the "Sacred Arts of Tibet" exhibitions to be held throughout the world. His Holiness as asked westerners to help raise the awareness of Tibetan art and culture, as well as give people the opportunity to see the beautiful work young Tibetan people are being trained in, to keep alive the unique sacred and traditional arts of Tibet.

Norbulingka Centre for Arts is a training centre for Tibetan artists in exile. Here, the best masters in sculpture, Thangka painting and appliqué and woodcarving pass on their age-old traditions to a new generation of artists. The Centre for Arts also produces limited numbers of beautiful Thangka Paintings, Thangka Appliqué and statues. Some of these unique pieces are being made available to you.

Posters, postcards and information sheets are being prepared in India and will be available shortly to have at your centre, so people will be familiar with the works and therefore enjoy the exhibition. There will be a power point presentation during the exhibition, showing the various artists and masters in their workshops.
